The Water Bath

A general piece of lab equipment, the water bath allows the lab technician to bring and hold samples to a desired temperature. The most common use for this is the forced diacetyl test, but it is also critical for measurement of FAN. Like the incubator, DIY solutions to building a water bath on a budget can be found with a simple web search. The university surplus sale is also an excellent way to find a water bath at a discount. New water baths, depending on the volume and features, can be found new for under a thousand dollars.
