The Disk Mill

Disk Mill is a commercial name for a disc mill, a widely-used piece of machinery in many industries to grind and refine hard, solid materials. A disc mill typically works by feeding the material to be refined through two opposing discs to produce a refined product. In the context of brewing quality control, the material fed through the Disk Mill are brewers grains, and the use of the mill allows for brewers to refine their grains directly before brewing to ensure freshness. The Disk Mill allows brewers grains to be processed with consistency, and for the highest amount of total extract to be extracted from brewer’s grains during the malt processing step.
