Investing in Brewing Science and Supporting Research

The ASBC Research Council aims to fund scientific research projects related to the brewing, fermented beverages, and/or allied industries. The Council annually solicits sponsors to fund scientific research conducted at a not-for-profit academic institution. Funding priority is given to projects that focus on the advancement of beer and beverage science that result in new methods, publications, presentations, or similar outputs that benefit the broader ASBC community and align with the ASBC mission and vision.

Support Research and Sponsor

We invite your organization to support scientific excellence in beer and beverage and join the ASBC Research Council by becoming a Sponsor. As a sponsor, your organization has influence over the projects to be funded, and will receive project updates and access to final research results.

The Research Council is comprised of a Chair, who is appointed by the Board, along with 3-4 members from the Board of Directors, and the Sponsor Representatives who have contributed to funding for the project year.

Sponsor Levels

  • $1,000–$4,999: Sponsors will participate in the review of submitted research proposals and are a non-voting member in the funding decisions.

  • $5,000 or more: Sponsors will participate in the review of submitted research proposals and be accorded one vote in the funding decisions.

  • All sponsor levels receive access to mid-year project updates and final research results of funded projects.

  • To learn more about sponsoring, contact the chair of the ASBC Research Council.
