​Investing in Brewing Science and Supporting Research

The ASBC Research Council aims to fund scientific projects related to the brewing, fermented beverage, and allied industries. The Council will solicit and fund project proposals which focus on the development of brewing and beverage science advancements that result in new methods, publications, presentations, etc. to benefit the ASBC’s membership at large. 

Funded projects typically range from $5,000–$20,000 for one year of funding, if additional funding is requested beyond a one year duration, a new proposal must be submitted and will be evaluated by the ASBC Research Council.

Sponsor Research​​​

We invite your organization to support scientific excellence in brewing and join the ASBC Research Council as a Sponsor. As a sponsor, your organization has influence over the projects to be funded, and will receive project updates and access to final research results​​. 

The ASBC Research Council is composed of members from the ASBC Board of Directors​ and from members of companies providing supporting funding.​    

Sponsor Levels

  • $1,000–$4,999: Sponsors will participate in the review of submitted research proposals and are a non-voting member in the funding decisions. 

  • $5,000+: Sponsors will participate in the review of submitted research proposals and be accorded one vote in the funding decisions.

  • All sponsor levels receive access to funded projects mid-year project updates and final research results.

  • Sponsorships for FY25 open through February 21, 2025.

Call for Project Proposals​​​

FY25 funding to support academic research in brewing science that is conducted at a not-for-profit academic institution (domestic and international) is available to ASBC members that are either principal investigators or students​.​​ ​​Membership in ASBC is required.​
