ASBC Annual Meeting 2001
June 23 - 27
Victoria Conference Center
Victoria, British Columbia

ASBC invites you to the breathtaking Pacific seacoast city of Victoria, British Columbia

The real beauty of Victoria is that you can do almost anything. The dramatic Pacific Coast offers incredible whale watching and the adventure of the great outdoors, all within city limits. Take advantage of the international shopping, lively arts, spectacular fishing, plus a great golf experience. Afternoon tea is still taken in a traditional, unhurried manner in this romantic city. Horse- drawn carriages travel the streets and tall ships moor alongside the wharf. Attendees and their guests will be charmed with old-world culture and hospitality.

The meeting headquarters will be at The Fairmont Empress Hotel. Built in 1908 by the Canadian Pacific Railway, the recently renovated hotel offers the quiet elegance of a bygone era along with modern amenities including indoor swimming, whirlpool and recreation center. The modern Victoria Conference Centre is connected to the hotel. Both are in the heart of the city and within walking distance of the Inner Harbour as well as many of Victoria's many attractions—the Royal British Columbia Museum is just across the street. The business portions of the Annual Meeting will take advantage of the theatre-style seating and modern amenities of the Conference Centre. The technical program includes 23 oral and 32 poster presentations and seminars including the first-ever Packaging Seminar planned and coordinated by the MBAA and the ASBC.
