Differences in Ultraviolet Absorbance of Tetrahydroiso-α -acid Components. Bruce A. Hay, John W. Homiski, and Jack L. Howie, Pfizer Central Research, Groton, CT 06340. J. Am. Soc. Brew. Chem. 52:0054, 1994.

A high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was developed to separate the six major components of tetrahydroiso-α-acids. Relative ultraviolet absorptivities, absorbance spectra, and HPLC relative response factors were generated for the major components using the HPLC method and a combination of ultraviolet, refractive index, and diode array detection.
