Under ion-isoconcentration conditions, ion-selective electrodes were used as ethanol sensors in aqueous systems over the concentration range 0-99.9% ethanol in batch and continuous analyses. Sample concentrations were read from a calibration graph, obtained from two standard solutions, using a fluoride electrode for the concentration range 0-90% ethanol and a pH glass electrode for concentrations above 90% ethanol. The method developed is accurate, reproducible, and economical.
