NOTE Further Studies of the FerroZine(™) Reaction for Iron in Beer. H. Garza-Ulloa, R. Villarreal, and A. M. Canales, Cervecería Cuauhtémoc, Monterrey, Mexico. J. Am. Soc. Brew. Chem. 38:0077, 1980.

The formation constant of the Fe (II)-FerroZine™ complex was determined and the possible interferences of Cr (III), Cu (II), Zn (II), and Ni (II) in the formation of the complex were evaluated. The results show that Cu (II) is the only ion that interferes. The value of the formation constant was 16.20 (expressed as a base 10 logarithm).
