Concentrated Hop Pellets. Herbert L. Grant, S. S. Steiner, Inc., Yakima, WA 98909. J. Am. Soc. Brew. Chem. 37:0055, 1979.

Substantial industrial interest in concentrated hop pellets has stimulated investigation of production and evaluation procedures. Production methods designed to reduce the resin losses inherent in all purely mechanical systems used for concentration are described. The loss of α-acids and of brewing value during concentration is evaluated by spectrophotometry, conductometric titration, and ion-exchange chromatography, and stability of the concentrated product is compared with that of regular pellets.
