Undergraduate Scholarship Program
An undergraduate scholarship up to $1,000 is available for the 2008-2009 school year, supported by an endowment of the ASBC Foundation, and from annual contributions by individuals and companies to ASBC. This undergraduate award will be paid directly to the recipient in September after ASBC receives verification of registration for the fall semester or quarter from the appropriate department head.
PURPOSE of the AWARD
This ASBC scholarship is provided to a student who is a daughter or son of an active ASBC member. The student must be entering her or his junior or senior year at the time the scholarship is received. A scientific course of study is not a requirement for consideration of this award; however in the event of a tie, a scientific course of study would be considered as a plus.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The general eligibility requirements for applicants for the undergraduate scholarship are:
- The candidate must be the daughter or son of an active ASBC Member.
- The candidate must be enrolled as an undergraduate student at a college or university and be actively pursuing a bachelor's degree.
- The candidate must be enrolled in an academic schedule that meets the minimum requirements of the attending college or university for a full-time undergraduate student.
- Age, sex, race, financial need, or non-receipt of an ASBC undergraduate scholarship are not conditions of eligibility for the award.
- The value or terms of any award are subject to change upon agreement with the donor.

All information and attachments requested in the application must be provided. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Do not submit more than requested. Use only the space provided on the application form. Do not retype the form, submit continuation pages, or use any reverse sides. Applications will be copied and sent to each member of the ASBC Foundation selection jury for review. Material in excess of that required will not be copied and included.
To be considered for year 2009-2009, applications, completed as required, including any attachments and verifying signatures, must be received on or before March 1, 2008.
